Ernst Conservation Seeds

Our Mission

It is the mission of Ernst Conservation Seeds to make available to eastern North America the key native and naturalized species of plants for restoration, reclamation, conservation, wildlife habitat enhancement, and the beautification of our nation.

We will identify, collect, and propagate new species and ecotypes that will meet our clients’ needs, from Eastern Canada to the Southeastern United States. A number of species are developed under certified and source-identified criteria, as well as common local ecotypes. To ensure our customers receive a quality product, certain seeds are hand harvested, and all seeds undergo a rigorous series of conditioning and testing.

In addition to 4,500 acres of native seed production at Ernst, we supply seed from some of North America’s top producers and collectors.

Ernst Conservation Seeds and its suppliers will collect, grow, and process all of our products in an ecologically sustainable and renewable manner.
